DescriptionOn Australia Day, 26 January, we celebrate what's great about Australia and being Australian. It's the day to reflect on what we have achieved and what we can be proud of in our great nation. It's the day for us to re-commit to making Australia an even better place for the future. There are many great things about this country: the people, our land, our diversity, the indigenous cultures, our freedom and democracy, a fair go for all. Australia uses a number of national icons to represent the country internationally and to provide a focus for its people. Our two most significant symbols are the Australian Flag and the national anthem, Advance Australia Fair. Other national symbols include the Coat of Arms, the Golden Wattle and the Opal. Our national colours are Green and Gold.
