She Leads Workshop – Get Your Voice Heard with Lightbulb Improv

TitleShe Leads Workshop – Get Your Voice Heard with Lightbulb Improv
Group NameYWCA Canberra
DescriptionYWCA Canberra’s She Leads Workshops form part of our women’s leadership pathway, and provide members with the opportunity to hone their leadership skills through a series of targeted professional development workshops. This She Leads Workshop presented by Lightbulb Improv is designed to explore how improvisation skills build confidence in presentation and performance in the workplace. The desired outcome is to build women’s confidence in their ability to react to novel situations and think quickly on their feet. The importance of improvisation skills are being recognised by businesses (see this article summarising Tina Fey’s application of improvisation in the business world). This workshop will include an overview of the basic principles of improvisation, discussion on how improvisation can be used in the workplace, and practical examples of how the facilitators have used these skills in their professional careers. The workshop will then provide participants with some hands-on exploration of improvisation (also known as a bit of fun!).
