  • 2012 Registration and Auditions

    The launch of Canberra Youth Music's 2012 program will occur on 23 September 2011 at the Canberra Youth Orchestra Concerti Concert (at Llewellyn Hall, ANU, 7pm).

    Auditions for senior groups will commence on October 29th  - see CYM website for registration, audition and program details.

  • Christmas in The Pantry!!

    Hey, Kids! Join us this December for some deliciously festive cooking in the Kids Pantry kitchen!

    Classes run Saturday and Sunday every weekend right up to Christmas, starting with our meltingly good Ice Cream Parlour class on 1 December! (And you could win a Cuisinart Ice Cream Machine just by joining the class!)

    Whether you're into Gingerbread Houses, Christmas lollies, Macaroons, Croquembouche, or you just want to made and decorate a brilliant Christmas cake, we've got something for everyone!

    Want to help save lives from stroke?

    We are currently looking for passionate volunteer speakers from the ACT for our StrokeSafe Ambassador program.

    StrokeSafe Ambassadors play a critical role in stroke prevention within the community.

    • Conduct talks in your local community

    • No experience is required

    • Comprehensive training provided

    If you are passionate about raising awareness of stroke and stroke prevention, express interest now!

  • Hartley Lifecare Celebrates 50 years of Excellence in Service at a Gala Dinner

    Hartley Lifecare invites you to join us as we celebrate our 50th year of service in the ACT at a Gala Dinner.

    The event will be held at the Hellenic Club on Saturday 11th August 2012 from 7pm to midnight. Tickets are $90 which includes a 3 course meal and drinks with entertainment by The Smooth Operators.

    The Cancer Support Group ACT Eden Monaro's Own is updating their website.  We are expecting to have the new site up and running in July 2012. 

    The new site will have a newsletter, blog and forum as well as information about us and our upcoming events.

    Once the site is completely online, we will send out a further announcement and would love to welcome all those interested in finding out what we do and how you can help to visit our site - Very Soon!

  • Applications Open for Artist in Residency Program
    Applications are now open for Playing Field Studio inaugural Artist in Residence program. The residency program provides artists with an opportunity to develop their creative art practice with the use of the Playing Field Studio for seven days from 8 – 14 October 2012 and a materials allowance of $750. The residency is open to all artists, both professional and amateur, living in the ACT or surrounding region practicing in music, dance, theatre, visual art, media and design. The purpose of the residency program is to support the development of artistic work that align with the aims and objectives of Playing Field Studio. Applications close Friday 24 August 2012.     To help those extending their digital life we are offering **50 FREE MEMBERSHIPS** to anyone who buys a new iPod, iPhone or desktop Mac since 1-Aug-12 and who presents their purchase receipt to our presentation night Tues 11-Sep, 7:30 at Hughes Baptist Church.

    ACTApple is a Canberra non-profit group that has been helping users of Apple computers for more than 20 years. We have no affiliation with the Apple Computer company, and have members in Canberra, regional NSW, the south coast and QLD!

    ACTApple meets there on the second Tuesday of every month, and membership is not required to attend. Everyone is welcome to come along and see if the presentations will benefit them. We also have a monthly newsletter full of articles and hints and an e-mail list for solving problems.

     Our new square dance class for 2013 commences on Wednesday evening 13th February at 7.0pm in the Uniting Church Hall Curtin. We accept new members during the first 6 weeks of class.  Make a committment for 2013 come join us and add fun and exercise to your life.

  • Kids Pantry 2013 After School Classes

    Places in our fabulous After-School Classes are greatly coveted. Running for 9 weeks from the beginning of each term, your kids will experiment with the familiar and try the not-so-familiar! We'll open our minds to new food experiences, and spend some time in the kitchen garden too!
